First Premium Sustainable Agronomy Venue In Central Europe Announced
The R&A has welcomed Golfclub Breitenloo in Switzerland as the first club in Central Europe to work with The R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service under a R&A Sustainable Agronomy ‘Venue’ premium support agreement. Becoming an R&A Sustainable Agronomy Venue means the club will receive tailored agronomic expertise and the highest level of support communicating and showcasing best practice in course management and sustainability.
The R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service supports clubs worldwide with independent, science-led expertise, helping them to deliver long-term sustainability alongside outstanding course conditioning and playing performance.
Héctor Forcén, Senior Agronomist for Central Europe at The R&A, will lead the collaboration with Golfclub Breitenloo. He will be supported by Paul Woodham, The R&A’s Sustainable Agronomy Lead for Europe and GB&I, and Richard Windows, Assistant Director — Sustainable Agronomy Services.
Woodham said: “Breitenloo is a fantastic addition to our sustainable agronomy portfolio and an important milestone as our first R&A Sustainable Agronomy venue course in Central Europe. Its location, ambition and commitment to excellence make it an ideal partner to work alongside in the aim of delivering high performance playing surfaces in a sustainable way.”
