Dr Osman Aşkın Bak, minister of youth and sports of the Republic of Türkiye, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, former minister of Foreign Affairs and Yıldırım Demirören, president of the Turkish Golf Federation, were among the line-up of distinguished guests who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Türkiye’s newest golf destination on Friday, October 30.

Also in attendance at the event were Mustafa Göçen, chairman of the board of Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf and The Dalaman Golf Club; vice-chairman Onur Çetinceviz; board members İhsan Çetinceviz, Aslı Çetinceviz, Mehmet Göçen and Erdal Eren; Ümit Yaşar Atalay, general manager of Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf and The Dalaman Golf Club; and other local government officials, regional authorities and leading figures from the tourism industry as the event launched a new era for golf in the Dalaman region.

Developed by Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, The Dalaman Golf Club aims to establish Dalaman as a prominent international golf destination, offering an 18-hole championship course alongside a comprehensive range of golf facilities. The investment further enhances the resort’s offering by bringing together sport, nature and lifestyle experiences, while contributing to the diversification of regional tourism and strengthening Türkiye’s position in the international golf market.

Coinciding with its official opening, The Dalaman Golf Club hosted the 36-hole 2026 Turkish Golf Federation Republic Cup from October 29-30. Organised by the Turkish Golf Federation (TGF), the tournament brought golfers together in Dalaman to celebrate Republic Day through the unifying spirit of sport.

Over two days of competition, players took to the course to compete for the Republic Cup titles across the various categories. Hosting this national tournament marked an important milestone for The Dalaman Golf Club, demonstrating its ambition to become an established venue for national golf competitions while showcasing the region’s growing potential as a sports tourism destination.

Set between the Mediterranean coastline and the natural landscape surrounding the Dalaman River, The Dalaman Golf Club offers an engaging golfing experience on its 18-hole, par-72 championship course. Designed by International Design Group (IDG), the course has been carefully integrated into the natural topography, offering an enjoyable yet testing layout for both professional and amateur golfers.

Measuring 6,123 metres, the course features 15 natural water hazards and 55 bunkers, presenting players with a variety of strategic challenges throughout their round. The club’s facilities include a golf academy, driving range, dedicated short-game practice areas, Trackman technology, a clubhouse, restaurant and pro shop.

Located approximately 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport, The Dalaman Golf Club benefits from its close connection with Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, offering guests the opportunity to combine golf with exceptional accommodation, gastronomy, wellness and the natural beauty of the region.

Looking ahead, the club aims to welcome international tournaments, nurture the next generation of golfers through its golf academy and establish Dalaman as a recognised destination on the international golf map.

With its contribution to the diversification of regional tourism, The Dalaman Golf Club is set to play an important role in positioning Dalaman as a year-round destination. Its official opening, alongside the hosting of the TGF Republic Cup, marks a significant step towards realising this ambition and showcasing the region’s potential within the international golf tourism market.
