Elevate Golf will head to East Lothian in 2028, bringing the world’s leading golf tour operators to one of the game’s most celebrated golfing regions.
The announcement means host destinations are now confirmed for each of the next three editions of the invitation-only business and networking event, with Northern Ireland hosting later this year and Ayrshire in 2027 before Elevate moves to East Lothian in 2028.
The three-year programme reflects the position Elevate Golf has established within the international golf tourism industry since its launch. The 2026 edition sold out seven months in advance, with the event having grown from 60 suppliers in its first year to 230 of the world’s most exceptional golf courses, resorts and accommodation providers attending this year.
Elevate brings together a carefully selected group of international golf tour operators and premium suppliers, combining pre-scheduled business appointments with golf and networking in the host destination.
East Lothian provides a natural setting for the 2028 edition. Stretching east from Edinburgh along the Firth of Forth, the region has one of the greatest concentrations of links golf anywhere in the world, with historic championship courses sitting alongside modern venues and a strong collection of hotels and hospitality businesses.
At this year’s Elevate Golf, East Lothian will showcase the strength of the destination, with participating venues including Archerfield, Dunbar Golf Club, Gilmerton House, The Glen Golf Club, Greywalls Hotel, Gullane Golf Club, Muirfield – The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, The Leddie Hotel, Marine North Berwick, North Berwick Golf Club and The Renaissance Club.
Leanne Thorpe, Director of Elevate Golf, said: “Confirming East Lothian for 2028, with Northern Ireland and Ayrshire already in place, gives us an exciting programme of host destinations to look forward to.
“East Lothian has everything we look for in an Elevate destination. Its concentration of exceptional golf is remarkable, but just as importantly it gives our tour operators the opportunity to experience the wider destination first-hand and spend meaningful time with the people and businesses they can work with.
“The response to Elevate over the last few years has given us the confidence to plan further ahead, and having our destinations confirmed through to 2028 provides real continuity for the event, our partners and the international tour operators who attend.”
Stuart McEwen, Secretary of The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, said: “Elevate Golf has established itself as the event that attracts the world’s leading golf tour operators, and for that reason we are delighted to host and welcome Elevate Golf delegates to East Lothian in 2028. The event provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase not only our own outstanding course, but also the exceptional collection of world-class golf courses across the region. East Lothian truly boasts one of the world’s greatest golfing coastlines.”
Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, said: “East Lothian is home to two Marine & Lawn hotels. Greywalls sits on the edge of Muirfield in Gullane, within easy reach of Gullane Golf Club and The Renaissance Club, while Marine North Berwick looks out over the West Links, with Archerfield and Dunbar also a short drive away.
“Elevate Golf has become a go-to name in luxury golf tourism, and this East Lothian partnership reinforces a view the brand has held since first opening here: few destinations offer this concentration of championship links golf in such a short distance.”
